Governor Richardson declares Feb. 18 "Ryan Bingham Day"
On February 18, 2010, Governor Bill Richardson personally congratulated Academy Award winner Ryan Bingham, a singer-songwriter originally from Hobbs, New Mexico, for the success of the song he co-wrote and performed, "The Weary Kind - Theme from Crazy Heart." Governor Richardson issued a proclamation declaring February 18, 2010, "Ryan Bingham Day" in New Mexico.

The New Mexico Music in Film Summit took place September 18 & 19, 2009 at at the Kimo Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was sponsored by the New Mexico Music Commission/Dept. of Cultural Affairs, the City of Alb. Film & Music Offices, Albuquerque Studios and Sennheiser USA.

New Mexico Film Industry Incentives
New Mexico offers a 25% tax rebate on all film production expenditures that are subject to taxation by the State of New Mexico. This is a refund, not a credit. This includes the use of New Mexico musicians and composers hired onto a film project.
