Dwight J. Torres, Sr.

Dwight J. Torres, Sr. was born and raised in Las Vegas, NM, and is a 1981 graduate of Robertson High School. Currently, Dwight, serves as Probate Judge for San Miguel County, a position he has held since 2019. He is also a radio personality at KNMX Radio in Las Vegas, NM where he started in 2018. He holds a degree in Mortuary Science from Amarillo College. Dwight started his career in 1984 with the NM Department of Transportation (NMDOT) working for the agency 25 years before retiring in 2009. After retirement, Dwight went on to work for Nelson Funeral Home where he became funeral director until their closing in June 2018. Dwight previously owned and operated Good Times Mobile DJ services, and is currently the owner of L&D Suites and LND rental properties in Las Vegas. Dwight has received several awards from the NM Broadcasters’ Association as well as the prestigious Mark Ipiotis Award from the NM Hispano Music Association. Over the past 25 years Dwight has served and continues to serve in various capacities on several boards and commissions within the City of Las Vegas and San Miguel County government, and other nonprofit organizations. He is currently the Chairman of the New Mexico Probate Judges’ Affiliate. Dwight is a member of the New Mexico Hispano Music Association and was appointed by Governor Michelle Lujan-Grhisham to the New Mexico Music Commission in September 2025.
